• Cut the corner off your tired sponge and repurpose it.  After you’ve cleaned the dishes and kitchen counters repeatedly with your sponge, it may start to smell.  You can microwave it, throw it in the dishwasher or spray it with certain essential oils to help.  However, at some point, you’ll feel that’s it’s no longer sanitary to continue to use that poor sponge on anything else in the kitchen.  When this happens, simply cut the corner off it to signal to you that’s it’s now a utility sponge.  Store it separately from your new kitchen sponge and use this worn sponge that still has life left in it to clean the toilet or trash cans or even your tires.  It’ll eventually wear out completely.  But now you can rest easy knowing that you saved a little money by repurposing and squeezing it (literally) for all it was worth.
